I want to write something for you,
But what to do?
I've done love songs before,
But this is so much more.

Something romantic,
Something sweet,
Something wonderful,
Something that leaves me unable to speak.

I don't care about the time,
How little or long,
It's as real as it feels,
No matter the duration.

It's so much harder to write,
What I'm really feeling,
Than to make up a song,
About that which does not exist.

Hopefully it will make you smile,
Hopefully it will make you blush,
But hopefully you won't look away.

Maybe I'll write something better,
When I'm longing for you,
Even more than I am now,
With you watching as I write.

You don't know what this is,
You don't know who I'm writing to,
You don't know it's about you,
You don't know how hard this is.

You make me smile,
As I do you,
But it's beyond that,
It's greater than anything.

Let's hope it stays this way,
Or gets even better,
As long as I have you,
I'll be happy either way.
