When I'm Sad, I SmileIs it only me,
Who laughs when I'm depressed?
Am I the only one,
Who smiles when I'm sad?

I laugh so I don't cry,
I smile so I don't frown,
So nobody ever realizes,
When I'm feeling depressed,
When I'm feeling down.

Even when I say it,
When I try to display it,
The emptiness I feel within,
Although I'm not at all happy,
I still can't help but grin.

So they don't take me seriously,
They think it's not so bad,
That I'm just feeling a touch sad,
When the truth of the matter is,
I'm wondering if I'd be better off dead.

I tell them all the time,
I've contemplated suicide,
Sometimes even homicide,
But they just don't realize,

After the happily ever afters are over,

When the fairytale has become broken,

The prince appears to have lost his charm,
The castle seems more like a barn,
The princess has nothing to do but chores,
The steed got loose and ran away,
The fairytale is a fairytale no more.

The sun has long since set on their story,
They're waiting for it to rise again,
But a new dawn shall bring no relief,
Nothing can change the sad truth,
Happy endings come to an end with your youth.
