Your heart is racing, with nothing to say.
The tubes criss-cross, making designs,
You stutter, you cough, from your beds confines.
Your dreaming is the only life away from this bed,
Escaping to cellars and doors in your head.
Until one day, they wheeled him in,
A shot to the heart, clothes stretched against skin.
He laughs, He talks, he awakens the dead,
Your heart stutters in practice for what lay ahead.
Bandages fall in piles on the floor,

“Asleep”
I walked into the room like the many nights I did before. The familiarity of the room enveloped me in an atmosphere of nostalgia. Slowly, quietly, I walked towards the bed in almost painful suspense. I looked at the lump that was wrapped in dull yet warm gray blankets.
He was asleep.
I sighed in both disappointment and relief. Part of me wished he would wake up and look at me, straight into my eyes. That part of me wished he would get mad at me, his piercing eyes flaming, and stop me from leaving. I wanted him to convince me not to leave. Donohue rolled up to the side of the building, the words ‘PET SHOP’ painted in bold across its face. The place tended to sicken him, but nonetheless, he needed a new slave. He had already broken the last one, and sent it off to be some farmer’s child. He needed a new one, though… He was running out of farmers in need of boys to work with, and at this point was practically drooling for a challenge. In case you noticed my seemingly random fav'ing, I discovered you a few weeks ago and am in love with your stories. I don't mind if a plot line is a little bland, as long as the characters are alive, but let me tell you, I am absolutely astounded because you have both great plots, and characters that you can fall in love with.
I didn't like the first installment as much, but this one is AWESOME.
You are an amazing writer, and I look forward to slowly but surely getting through all the rest of your stories.
PS. My absolute FAVORITES, are quite possibly all of them. Haha. I try and try but I can't decide, they're all soooo good.
